Constance “Connie” Scholl (October 14, 1942- October 27, 2024)
Connie Scholl (Foley) passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024. Daughter of Martin and Ellen Foley (Coakley) and sibling to Joanne McGurk (deceased, Howard, deceased). Connie is survived by her six loving children—Ellen Floyd (Walt), Annmarie McShea (Jimmy), Harvey Scholl (Laurie), Daniel Scholl, David Scholl (Debora), and Rebekah Scholl—as well as eleven beloved grandchildren—Ryan (Larisa), David, Caroline, Patrick, Kathryn, Iggy, Brigid, Martin, Parker, Max, and Abby—and two great grandchildren—Meredith and Maeve. This is a lot of names, and there was a lot of love over a lot of years.
Family and Faith describe Connie. She was a devout Catholic who attended daily mass at St. Katherine of Siena. She formed lasting friendships through church and the numerous activities she was involved with (Walking with Purpose, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Catholic Daughters, and the Bible Babes). Connie had intentions and a prayer list a mile long and carried Novena cards to share with all.
Connie worked as a Registered Nurse and then a Nurse Manager. She was a lifelong learner and went on to earn her Bachelor of Nursing degree from Holy Family College at the age of 62. She would rarely speak of her own accomplishments and instead focused on others. Connie raised her six children in East Torresdale and was exceptionally proud of them, or as she would phrase it “So, so, so, SOOO proud!”
Fondly known as “Bubbie”, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was sometimes known to not so subtly brag about them to friends. Bubbie could often be found at family events holding a baby, surrounded by children, or explosively laughing with the adults. She was kind and grateful, which she demonstrated by sending Thank You cards after attending an event, receiving a gift, or in response to having been sent a Thank You card.
She will be sorely missed by many and is watching over all from her place in Heaven. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Connie’s life on Monday November 4th beginning at 12:30 PM in St. Katherine of Siena Church 9700 Frankford Avenue, followed by her funeral mass at 1:00 pm. Interment Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, mass intentions or donations can be sent to St. Katherine of Siena Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), and would be greatly appreciated by her family.
