Diane M. Oetzel

Diane Oetzel was born on April 19, 1946 to the late Joseph Lewis Sr and Josephine Lewis of Philadelphia. She passed away suddenly surrounded by her family on March 2, 2025 at the age of 78. Diane was a devoted, wife, mother, and grandmom.

Diane married her childhood friend Lenny on November 7, 1970. It was after he returned home from service from Vietnam that she knew he was the one she would spend the rest of her life with. They went on to purchase their first and only home together of 55 years where they created the most loving, beautiful household.

Diane took pride in raising her three daughters Deanne, Loriann and Sandra and gained her three son in law’s Armando Lopes, Jason Ferguson and Richard Spiker Jr . She has four loving grandchildren Daniel, Kalie, Aiden and Evan whom she built her world around.

She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Josephine Lewis, her brothers Edward Lewis Sr, Joseph Lewis Jr, sisters Eileen Cioffi and Marie Frank.

She is survived by her husband Leonard Oetzel, her three daughters and four grandchildren, her brothers Charles Lewis and Robert Lewis and sister Rita Bayer and nieces and nephews.

Diane devoted her entire life to taking care of her family.

Mom loved cleaning, decorating and dancing to the oldies. She not only was mom to us, but became mom to everyone that met her, always putting others above herself. She will be forever missed and live in our hearts for eternity.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday March 19th from 10 AM to 11 AM in Christ the King Church, 3252 Chesterfield Road, Philadelphia. Her funeral mass will begin 11 AM and her burial will follow precisely 1 PM in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown PA.
