Eileen Patricia Kelly, 69, affectionately known as "Tilt", passed away peacefully on June 30, 2020 in the comfort of her home in Leesburg, Fl., after a long battle with cancer surrounded by family members and her devoted partner Mary Nimchuk. Eileen was born on November 13, 1950 in Philadelphia to Edward and Eileen (ne McKelvey) and raised in the area known as Flatiron. She attended St. Anne's Elementary School and graduated from John W. Hallahan High where she played varsity basketball. After graduation, Eileen enlisted in the Navy and served from 1969 to 1972, when she was Honorably discharged. Eileen worked at the Pentagon as an Information Specialist during her time in the Navy. Eileen graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor's Degree in Administration and worked for the City of Philadelphia as an IT Specialist and retired after 25 years. Eileen was the only female "lifetime member" of AMVETS Post 146 in Flatiron. Eileen's hobbies included playing softball, golf and helping less fortunate people with their errands, and also showing them compassion. Eileen was pre-deceased by her parents, Edward and Eileen Kelly (McKelvey), her twin brother Thomas "Tucker". She is survived by her partner Mary Nimchuk, brothers, John (Ruth) Kane, Edward (Anne) Kelly, Reverend John Kelly, Timothy (Eileen) Kelly, William (Kimberly) Kelly, Michael, Francis (Michelle) Kelly, Joseph (Joyce) Kelly, and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing and Funeral on Friday, July 24,2020, from 9:30-10:45 A.M. in Assumption BVM Church 1900 Meadowbrook Road, Feasterville, Pa. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 Mass will also be streamlined on Assumption BVM Church/Facebook page.
