JAMES GERARD, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2015. Predeceased by his son, Dennis. Cherished husband of Rita Rose (D'Aquilante) for 61 years; Beloved father of James Jr., Nancy VanDerBas (Larry), Michael (Valerie), Rita Ann Gregg (Mark), Carmine (Cheryl); 14 grandchildren, Tegan Jones (Kelly), James Gerard III, Jennifer VanDerBas, Kaitlin VanDerBas, Kelly Ann Rahill (Joseph), Joanne Rimeris (Robert) Samantha, Jill, John Gregg, Elaina Gregg, Lauren, Carmine, and Erin; 12 great grandchildren Sadie, Sullivan, Joseph, Katherine, Michael, Patricia, Sarina, Nicholas, Sophia, Emma, Fiona, and Julianna. Predeceased by his sister Lorraine, brothers Francis, Joseph, and Gerard. Survived by sisters Rosalie, Nancy, and many nieces and nephews. James was an army combat veteran in the Korean War and co-owner of Cantwell's Furniture, Inc. He was a kind and loving man who found great joy spending time with his family. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday, January 19, from 7-9 P.M. and Tuesday, January 20, from 9-10 A.M. at John Fluehr and Sons funeral home, 3301-15 Cottman Ave. PHILA., PA. 19149.
