Joan Liston

Joan Liston, affectionately known as “Aunt Joan” to all who loved her, passed away peacefully at her home on December 9, 2024. She was the cherished daughter of the late John and Dorothy (née McCarty) and the devoted sister of the late Thomas.

Joan is survived by a large extended family of loving cousins, who fondly embraced her as their “Aunt Joan,” as well as countless friends and neighbors whose lives she touched with her warmth and generosity.

Joan’s life was defined by her unwavering love for her family, her friends, and her faith. A devoted member of her church, she was a woman of great compassion who was always the first to reach out with a phone call when someone was unwell or in need. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she had a unique gift for making everyone feel seen and cared for.

A devout Catholic, Joan lit countless candles in prayer for those she held dear, offering her support through quiet acts of faith. She was a true “people person,” finding joy in connection and community, and she will be deeply missed by all whose lives she brightened.

Joan’s legacy of love and kindness will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Monday December 16th from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Calvary Church 11024 Knights Road. Joan's funeral mass will begin 10:30 AM and her burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
