John Joseph Grimmie, sr.

GRIMMIE, JOHN, SR., of Philadelphia passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was 71. John married Diane (nee Evangelist) on April 7, 1979 and is the loving father of five children: Danielle Reigel (Dan); John, Jr.; Kristen Knapp (Anthony); Jeffrey; and Scott. Loving grandfather to John, III. John was a dedicated husband and father who put his family above all else. He is survived by sisters Elizabeth Wisnewski and Maria Torres, brother Albert Sanchez, and many nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a viewing on Thursday May 29th 7-9 PM and Friday May 30th 9-10AM at the McCafferty-Sweeney Funeral Home 6126 Torresdale avenue. John's funeral mass will be celebrated Friday 10:30AM in St. Martin of Tours Church, 5450 Roosevelt Blvd., Philadelphia. Interment Resurrection Cemetery following Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John's name to the charity of your choice.
