Maryann Grasso passed away peacefully on March 2, 2021. She was born in Philadelphia on March 6, 1939, and raised in St. Vincent's Catholic orphanage in Drexel Hill, Pa where she attended grade school and high school. She married the late Dominic Grasso on May 6, 1961 and lived in the Germantown section of Philadelphia where they had 3 sons. They later moved to the Tacony section of Philadelphia to raise their boys in St. Leo's Parish. Her boys were the apple of her eye. While dad was on the road as a truck driver, mom was taking them somewhere to see new and different things. She especially liked to take her boys to the Philadelphia Firebirds games at the old Civic Center on weekends, sometimes bringing along a bunch of neighborhood kids and treating everyone to a great time. She enjoyed spending summers at the shore with her little guys. When all of her boys were in school, mom went back to work, first at the Sheraton hotel in NE Philadelphia then to a display company as a welder. She took time off from working to care for her loving husband while he battled cancer. She always kept the boys calm so they would never worry. When her husband was in remission she went back to work at Brooks Drug store around the corner from her house where everyone in the neighborhood just adored her amazing personality. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and heart of gold, reaching out to anyone that needed help and never bringing it up again. She loved those casinos and game shows, Flyers and Eagles games and always had to listen to Rockin Ron Cade's Elvis Show on the radio Sunday mornings. Her boys will always remember the absolute unconditional love and wisdom that she gave to them and her ability to listen and never judge. Her favorite saying..."You have to stick together". Maryann is the devoted mother of Michael Grasso, Robert Grasso, (Diane), John Grasso (Tammy) and proud grandmom of Nikii, Rob, Amanda, Philip, Dominique, John Jr., Joseph, and the late Caitlin, great grandmom of Raiden and Genevieve.
