TAYLOR, Robert F., "Bob" - of Philadelphia, PA, age 72 passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital, Langhorne, PA, surrounded by family on September 19, 2015. Bob was all "squared up" with God, his affairs, and his family. Cremation has taken place. A Life Celebration was held on October 3, 2015.
Bob was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 27, 1943, son of the late Elizabeth Nadeau Newell Taylor, "Betty", deceased January 4, 2015; and of the late Russell Francis Taylor, deceased July 9, 1995.
Bob was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and a veteran (Active, Reserves and National Guard). Bob was a provider, protector, and an entertainer. Bob always worked hard and played hard. Bob worked at many places over the years to include self employment as a residential and commercial painter. Bob had retired from the City of Philadelphia in 2005 with approximate thirteen total years of service at the Philadelphia Airport, Convention Center, and The Streets Department.
Bob married Margaret Mary Arnold, "Peg", in 1970, and she preceded him in death on March 4, 2004.
Bob enjoyed culture, music, dancing, singing, classic books, classic movies, and spending time with his family and friends. Bob loved the military, John Wayne, Erol Flynn, Oldies, and Irish Music. Bob was always a young man at heart, and had a simple realistic outlook on life. Bob sang previously for the Barbershop Quartet in Philadelphia with a highlight performance at the Philadelphia Academy of Music. Bob, a lifelong resident of Philadelphia, moved to the Poconos in 2004 ,and became "Pocono Bob". While at the Poconos he took up tennis lessons, volunteered his time, participated in fishing derbys, and became part of the Arrowhead Caberet group, which he enjoyed immensely.
Bob is survived by his children, Rob (Suzie), Michael, Andrew (Erin); his grandchildren, Sarah Margaret, Kristin Diane, and Brayden Andrew; by his brother Russell John Taylor (Sandy) of Philadelphia, PA, and Elizabeth Gallagher (Tom) of Davison, MI. Preceded in death James Taylor. Bob has numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank St. Mary's Hospital in Langhorne who treated Bob with dignity, respect and kindness.
