Shawn Patrick Dickson

Shawn P. Dickson, a remarkable soul, left his mark on everyone who knew him. His journey brought him to Hamilton, NJ, where he touched the lives of many. On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, Shawn peacefully transitioned to the next chapter, surrounded by his family.

Born on May 5, 1979, in Philadelphia, PA, Shawn was the beloved son of Frank Dickson and Patricia Lawless (Patty Meade). His heart belonged to his wife, Dana, who was his everything. Shawn spent many hardworking years in demolition, and his foundation was always built on family, friends, and love.

A devoted husband, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Shawn was the kind of person who was always there with a helping hand. He loved working in the yard, washing his car, or riding around on his lawn mower with his earbuds in, singing along to his favorite songs. He enjoyed fishing, watching Eagles games, and relaxing with Dana while watching their favorite shows.

Shawn adored his cats, Hope and Haven, and loved his nightly routines—singing in the bathtub, scratching lottery tickets, and ending the night with a bowl of Fruity Pebbles. Anyone who knew Shawn would say he was a little crazy—but he always had a smile on his face.

He was predeceased by his parents, Frank Dickson and Patricia Lawless (Patty Meade); his stepfather, John Lawless; his brothers Tony “Woody” Dickson and Frank “Franky” Dickson; and his sister, Denise Hume.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dana (Spoletini) Dickson; brothers Victor Dickson, John “Johnny” Lawless, Brian Lawless, and Bruce Lawless; sisters Kimberly Pascal and Kristina Gunter; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Celebration of his life for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 10 AM to 12 PM at McCafferty Sweeney Slabinski Barnes Funerals and Cremations, 2614 Orthodox Street, Philadelphia, PA. Words of Remembrance begin at noon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Shawn’s memory may be made to Victory Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, 285 Hamilton Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08609.
